Private one-time listening

Deer Mr. Lonely

Some things are just too hard to tell the people we’re close to.

For about 45 minutes, speak freely to someone outside your circle. You do not need to protect anyone, manage their reaction, or explain yourself perfectly.

Adults only · 60-minute appointment

What this space is

Some things are hard to say when the listener is part of your life.

A friend may worry. A partner may feel blamed. A colleague may remember. Here, there is no shared social circle and no relationship to manage afterward. The purpose is simple: give the thought somewhere safe enough to be spoken.

This private listening session is for adults who want to talk through an everyday concern with someone outside their circle. It is a single, non-clinical conversation, not therapy or a promise that one talk will resolve everything.

有些话不是不能说,只是不能对认识的人说。这里没有共同朋友圈,也不需要你照顾对方的反应。

One session. A clear boundary.

How it works

  1. 01

    Request a time

Choose an available appointment and answer a short eligibility screen. Share only what is necessary.

  2. 02

    Receive confirmation

Your location and service fit are reviewed first. If approved, Interac e-Transfer instructions are sent by email.

  3. 03

    Use the reserved hour

The listener offers approximately 45 minutes of focused listening, with the remaining time for arrival, scope confirmation, and a calm close.

  4. 04

    Leave without a commitment

No package, subscription, sales follow-up, or expectation to return. This is designed as a one-time conversation.

Clear scope protects both of us

A listening service, not treatment.

This is a non-clinical conversation for ordinary life concerns. It does not diagnose, treat, advise, or replace a regulated professional. No particular result is promised.

This may fit when you want to…

  • say something you cannot tell people you know
  • unload an ordinary work, relationship, relocation, or life-transition concern
  • hear your own thoughts more clearly
  • choose your own next step without being told what to do

This is not the right service when you need…

  • therapy, counselling, diagnosis, or medical advice
  • trauma processing, addiction treatment, or ongoing care
  • crisis monitoring or an immediate safety response
  • support in a location that has not yet been enabled
Immediate danger cannot wait for an appointment. Contact the emergency or crisis service available where you are. In Canada, call 911 for immediate danger or call/text 988 for suicide crisis support.

Questions, answered plainly

What happens in a private listening session?

You choose what to talk about. The listener gives you space to speak, reflects back what they hear, and may ask gentle questions. A 60-minute appointment includes approximately 45 minutes of focused listening, with time to settle in and close the conversation.

Will this be confidential?

The service is designed for privacy and sessions are not recorded. Confidentiality is subject to the service agreement, applicable law, and urgent safety obligations. Please do not send detailed medical or trauma information through the booking form.

Will you tell me what to do?

No. Your listener may reflect what they hear and ask gentle, non-directive questions, but decisions remain yours. This is not coaching or professional advice.

Who is the listener?

Deer Mr. Lonely is the listener’s public-facing service identity. A personal name and gender are not part of the service presentation. Legal identity may still be used where required for payment, receipts, insurance, safety, tax, or law.

Can I book from anywhere?

Not automatically. Your physical location at the time of the session must be reviewed before the appointment is accepted because local professional, privacy, consumer, insurance, and emergency-service rules differ.

What if I need continuing support?

This service is intentionally one-time. If your needs call for continuing or clinical support, you will be encouraged to contact an appropriately qualified provider in your location.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation is free with at least 24 hours’ notice. Payment and any applicable refund details are confirmed before the session.

You do not have to keep rehearsing it alone.

Say it once, in your own words, to someone outside your world.
